Every Monday night in 2007* we’ll be exploring the art of acting in a fun, practical, supportive atmosphere. These workshops are designed for all actors: beginners, professionals and all those in between.
Each week a different area of the actor’s craft is covered – we’ll be looking at character, voice, theatre sports, script interpretation, physical theatre, method acting, improvisation, fun ways to learn lines and overcome nerves.
You don’t have to commit to a full term of classes because each workshop runs independently.
So, whether you’re Darwin’s next Marlon Brando or have always been curious about acting and never had the opportunity, come along and check it out. No bookings required. See below for tutor details.

Dancers stretch everyday, footballers run laps and drill their skill, but what do actors do to stay at the top of their game?
Conquer great Shakespearean monologues, try your hand at Home and Away scripts – all at your own pace and with supportive professional feedback. You’ll be both actor and audience in these week-to-week performances of text.
What better way of staying sharp than having audience exposure each week as you work your way through whatever scripts you like? This model of actor training is very common in the U.S.A. , but rarely seen in Australia. Develop your acting skills in a supportive environment with professional feedback. Each session includes warm-up and lessons on technique. Useful for beginners through to professionals, all actors welcome.
Note: Choose monologues max. length 4minutes and scenes 6minutes, bring your own or choose from our library.
This term the Wednesday night workshops will be preparing for a tour of public performances around Darwin. Each week actors will develop scenes and monologues with professional coaching and direction. When enough "pieces" are ready, the tour will be announced. Its a great performance opportunity and the best time to work on monologues and scenes you've always wanted to do. Each night involves a brief technique lesson and then rehearsals and performance.
